Fitness in a snap: Family business goes beyond getting customers in shape
COLUMBUS — A new business is shaping up.
Snap Fitness 24/7 has opened at 825 23rd St. Suite 900 at Clock Tower Court.
The business is owned by Bargen Sports LLC, which is comprised of the Bargen family ” husband and wife, Denny and Jody, and their sons, Ryan and Dirk ” with Ryan as manager.
“It’s a whole family exercise program,” Denny said. “It’s a good fit for our community as far as providing wellness. God only gives you one body, so you better take care of it.”
That is where Snap Fitness comes into play with its modern equipment and stylish facility and, as the name indicates, it is open 24 hours a day, every day.
“We have state-of-the-art equipment, personal training and fitness assessment, a cardio theater, which includes personal viewing screens,” Ryan said. “There are personal entertainment modules. You can watch TV or plug in your iPod adapter and watch movies if you’ve downloaded them or listen to music.”
On top of keeping a patron entertained while working up a sweat, Snap Fitness also offers nutritional plans for all members and a personalized exercise program along with a free fitness assessment.
Also available are nutritional supplements, and another unique service is the stand-up tanning bed.
Memberships are offered long-term, month to month, or whatever fits the needs of the customer.
Ryan said there are modified membership plans, and for a limited time he is waiving the enrollment fee. there are individual and corporate plans that offer discounts for area businesses.
The personal training is handled by Ryan Bargen and Tara Watchorn, a certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist with a degree in exercise science wellness with an emphasis in athletic training and a coaching endorsement from Wayne State College.
“We don’t want to sign you up and walk away,” Ryan said. “It’s our duty to get involved and help you stay in the right mode and set goals. We’ll set up a workout plan.”
“We’ll be as hands-on as people need,” Watchorn said. We want people to get the results they’re paying for.”
She also is able to help people rehabilitate from injuries, such hip and knee replacements and back injuries.
Customers have access to any Snap Fitness in the country. there are several in Nebraska, including Lincoln, Bellevue, Waverly, Seward and Grand Island.
“I think Clock Tower Court is a great location,” Denny said. “We wanted the best location, best equipment, best employees. I think the personal training is the most important thing we have here.”
